Algorithmic Paternalism is brilliant. Did you coin that term?

Here in Canada, it’s a lighter version of the same thing… hyper-local assumptions disguised as personalization.

That dictation example perfectly captures how the system trains us to accept choices we never actually made. I feel it every time my feed “recommends” something I never asked for.

Your language-switch story is such a good reminder that “easy” often means “less agency.” (
